Serving 16 billion orders a year, China has the most robust and efficient food delivery market in the world. Much of this is due to the development of its logistics infrastructure, its competitive applications, and the technologies commonly used in its deliveries.

40 million Chinese, equivalent to 40% of the country's population, use online food delivery services
The revenue of the food delivery market in China, US$40.2 billion, is almost double that of the United States (US$22 billion)
Backed by Tencent, Meituan is valued at $100 billion, against Rappi's $3.5 billion
Valued at US$127 billion, the Chinese delivery industry handled 74 billion packages in 2020, an average of 52 deliveries per individual — about 60% of global delivery volume.
In the last year, much of this was due to the use of drones and robots on the streets to carry out ‘non-contact deliveries’. This trend has been observed since 2016 and has grown a lot during the country’s lockdowns to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
The food delivery segment, in particular, is very dynamic. About 16 billion orders are received per year and more than 5 million jobs have already been created, forming a production chain that gives significant returns to the country and a qualified workforce that works together with the latest in the latest technology.
