China: Big Pollutant or Promise for Vegetarians?

From 1980 until now, the average annual meat consumption per person in China has increased by more than three times. What may represent, in general, an increase in the purchasing power of its population, which is also reflected in other dimensions of quality of life, is also a challenge for the country’s long-term goals.

By 2060, the intention is that China will already be a neutral country in terms of carbon footprints, a plan that necessarily involves the reduction of meat consumption and animal exploitation. As on other fronts, such as energy, the Chinese already have startups and extensive investments in technological innovation to advance in this area.
